Why Use Hypnosis?

Hypnosis remains the “last resort” for most people. Despite the undisputed benefits that have been gained from therapies using hypnosis, it remains misunderstood and shrouded in mystery. It is associated with mind control illusionists and clucking chickens, yet when all is said and done, and every last pill, patch, cognitive talking therapy etc has been exhausted, people turn to the only thing left to try.... hypnosis.

So, why use hypnosis? Simply put, you are working within the subconscious part of the mind! If someone was to tell you that the anxiety you are experiencing is an automatic response, being activated from within your subconscious mind, where better to put things right than in the subconscious mind itself? Although most try pills, and other cognitive methods like counselling and CBT first. And, although it is possible to trigger the changes needed by working with these methods, it can be a lengthy process and take many sessions. There is also a risk of “opening the can of worms” before processing has taken place. Hypnosis works directly and efficiently at the source of the issue, so for this reason, Hypnosis is the number one obvious tool to use.
